I have made updates to the Backyard Fishing Guide today. The reason I'm not responding very fast to all of your messages right now is because I have been and still am a little bit busy during this time of year. But it's all good since I'm having such a great time =)

Another Alligator Gar!

Well, this time I was trying to catch an Electric Ell since that's the only fish I have left to catch in Marshville. Instead I did a "replay" of what I did last week when I caught an Alligator Gar + took a screenshot while fighting it  =D

Fishao - Huge and awesome update!

I don't think anyone who has been playing Fishao the last couple of days have missed the new big update =)

There is so much new awesome stuff that I don't even know where to begin. Ofcourse, since there are some new things in the game like 23 new breedable types of fish, houses and furniture, those are all desireable to include on the Fishao Blog, in tables, guides etc.

So naturally, adding those things is the next step. It's all on it's way right now but I don't know when it will be ready yet, but when it's ready it going to be awesome =)

So in the meanwhile I'm just going to make a short summary of the new features.

• Homes

Each player now has a personal home which can be decorated with furniture bought at Carps Decoration (furniture store). You can also visit any friend you have added in the game by going to the Friends house. If you haven't discovered these things yet I suggest you set out on a fun little Fishao discovery expedition =)

• Breeding fish

Your house has a backyard where you can breed new types of fish. The more uncommon the fish is the harder it will be to succesfully breed it, which certainly makes it very exciting! And you can go to your friends houses and catch the fish they have breeded. Go check it out and explore, if you haven't already =)

More details on these updates will be added to the blog in the near future ofcourse. This new update has also added furniture to the trading system as well as fishbucks!

Alligator Gar Caught!

Yey!

I just caught an Alligator Gar! =)  It's a 5-star fish which can be caught in Marshville. And I even had the presence of mind to take a screenshot while I was fighting it. First ever screenshot of someone fighting a 5-star fish?

Anyways, I'm happy, and I'll let these 3 pics tell the story =D

Pacuma Toadfish

Some fish I catch very rarely despite me having done alot of fishing in that area. One such example is the Pacuma Toadfish. I have only caught it on fish and only from the pier at Pinheira Beach. So that might be a good tip for you to try if you haven't caught this elusive fish yet. And I think it's active both during day- and nighttime. Good luck =)

Nassau Grouper, caught yours yet?

The Beautiful Nassau Grouper

Yesterday I tried catching the Nassau Grouper. I did not manage to catch it during daytime, but at night I caught a couple of them on shad from the pier. So for you guys and girls who want to catch it I suggest nighttime and Fish, lure, Shad or something similar that predator fish likes =)

Nassau Grouper & Free Santa hat!

Santa hats for everyone!

Today is the 1St of December, which means winter time begins. As such you can now get yourself a free and fancy Santa hat =) Just go to your character editor and you will find it in there! =)

Also a "new" fish has become active this month. It's the Nassau Grouper. It seems to like bait such as Fish and lures. I'm not sure yet if it's a nighttime only fish.

I have not been making that many posts recently, don't worry though. I still find the game as fun and exciting as I always have, I just have a busy (and fun) life right now. =)

Soon enough the big new update with personal homes will arrive and I hope you guys are as excited as I am about it! I invite you all to come and visit my home as soon as the update arrives and I have put some furniture in place! =)

Area Fishing Guide Updated

Just a short notice to let you know that I have now updated the entire Area Fishing Guide with the newest information about bait, wr, time etc.

It's quite a timeconsuming task, and I'm often quite busy too with life in general X-)

But it's fun to see the quality and accuracy of the information improving all the time thanks to the ever increasing ammounts of players in Fishao. And there are alot of helpful players out there =)

MAJOR update: Personal homes!

You might already know this if you follow Fishao on facebook or if you are checking the forum. But today a piece of very exciting information was released. Soon (probably by the end of the year) we will all have our own personal homes in Fishao which we can buy forniture for and decorate however we want!

Humpback Anglerfish caught!

The previously never before caught 5-star Humpback Anglerfish in Sibiri has now been caught! =)

The player who caught it was Klorel on the Dutch server. I'm hoping to get hold of a screenshot in with a bit higher resolution so that I can add it to the 5-Star Guide too. But never the less I do have a screenshot of it and it really looks like a fish worthy to be caught during halloween, dont you think? ;-)

I'm now lvl 120 =)

Yesterday I reached level 120, which means that I can now finally start fishing in Marshville! =)

I did some really intense (insane?) leveling from level 100-120. I caught somewhere between 13-15 5-star fishes in the past three days! (thank you Luck Potion 2)

And somewhere along the way I caught a giant 399 cm Octopus which is a new world record =)



This was a pretty short update, but just felt like sharing it =)

New World Record Biggest Fish !!!

The player Blackman was fishing for shark in the Boat On Sea Tournament using meat. He made cast after cast with no fish biting. And with only a couple of minutes left he activated a magic watch to speed things up a little. Shortly after this he gets the bite of his life! After a hard struggle with the great fish he finally lands it. And it's a 778 cm BEAST Shark!

On a little sidenote I just thought I'd mention that I have been focusing on leveling for the past two days. Mainly at Seagul Harbor using Luck Potion 2.

If you manage to find hotspots, this might be one of the most efficient ways to level up quickly (but not the cheapest!).

So far I caugt THREE 5-star Atlantic Wolffish the first day and the seond day (today) I have this far caught FOUR 5-star Sailfish! I can hardly believe it myself.

I do so much fishing in salt water that I become Salty =)

Another Paddlefish!

I have been trying to catch the Paddlefish for a long time, and I'm yet to get a bite from it =)

So it's really nice to see people catch it!

Villevari has just recently managed to catch one, so contratulations to that! But not only that, he also has the current world record for Shark. And the shark is a really rare catch! The reason for that is that it can only be caught on meat in the Boat On Sea Tournament.

On a side note I just saw the highest price on a fish in the Fish Market that I've seen so far. It was for my Atlantic Wolffish that I caught last week. 104 fishbucks, not bad for one fish! =)

Marshville added to Area Fishing Guide

The player pie_man  has been very helpful indeed and sent me all his available data on Marshville, which means I can now finally add that area to the Area Fishing Guide. Go check it out =)

It's fun to discover new types of fish that are available as the season changes. Right now in Tombani Town for example, you can catch the Largemouth Yellowfish.

Also some minor updates have been made to the Fish Market Guide.

Full Moon = Success!

I had a great day yesterday at the full moon. I met so many players and we had lots of fun fishing together. Several great things happened. Firstly I reached level 100. And the funny thing is that I reached level 100 after 100 days of playing! Cool huh? =)

So how did the fishing in itself go? It went really well. My plan was to try and catch some fishes that I hadn't caught yet. I went to Seagul Harbor and rented a boat. The fish where really biting and I caught several octopus. I was nearing the end of my 15 minutes on the boat when I got a bite from what looked like a 5-star fish, and it was! It was an Atlantic Wolffish! Funny thing is that the last time I heard about this fish being caught was also at a full moon a couple of months ago. Not saying it can't be caught at other times though.

I tried to catch the Arapaima in both Rio Tropical and Aquayama since they are the only ones I have left to catch in those two areas. Didn't have any success with that though. And yes, you can catch Arapaima at both areas =)

By the way, I noticed that I didn't catch one single rainbow runner at Seagul Harbor, and come to think of it I haven't caught any of those since September. This leads me to believe it's a seasonal fish. I will put that on the next update for the Seagul Harbor Table.

Lastly I went to Laketown to hunt for Goldcarp and Paddlefish.

I didn't catch any Paddlefish. But I did actually catch the Goldcarp! I have been trying to catch it for a long time, and I guess this was my lucky night! Hurray! =)

So in conclusion: I reached level 100, I actually got 3 fishboxes also (gave one away)...and last but not least I caught two 5-star fishes that I hadn't caught before!

Full Moon 18:th of October

So tomorrow, Friday the 18:th of October, is Full Moon.

If you haven't heard already there is a consistent rumour about the Full Moon having interesting effects on the fish, not just in real life, but also in the world of Fishao. Can there be truth to this? Do they become more active or what happens? I guess you will have to find out for yourself ;-)

Bigmouth Buffalo

Some updates today =)

Catch it with hook as bait!

The player Sp33dy caught a fish that I have never seen or heard about before. The fish is called Bigmouth Buffalo. It's "only" a 3-star fish that you can catch in the Race (Magic 15) tournament, so how come I haven't heard about this fish before? Because the bait used to catch it is Hook! So now we know of two fishes that can be caught with Hook; Bigmouth Buffalo and Paddlefish =)

Hence I have also updated the Tournament Fishing Guide, and the Race (Magic 15) table is now complete!

I would also like to give special thanks to JCase and Daniel Manteca for providing several new pieces of data for the Fish Market Guide which has also been updated today. Thank you!

I have started to recieve back some of the forms that you guys and girls are filling out regarding the fish market trading prices. I have also been getting some general questions about it so I just thought that I would make a little comment.

- Can I continue updating the form after I sent it in to you?
Yes, certainly. Infact that would be awesome. That would mean that the prices would keep getting regularly updated and hence the quality of the table would be amazing!

- Is it okay if I write it all down in an excel table instead?
The reason I have the form in the current format is just to ease the editing process a little for myself. But ofcourse you can use Excel if you want to. I'm happy anyway as long as people want to help out, because you/we are all cooperating together to improve the quality and the fun we have together via the Fishao world. This section will be largely credited to you guys! And as I think I mentioned sometime before; This blog has much to thank the players of Fishao for!

September fish has awakened?

Have you noticed how you haven't caught one single Pufferfish in September?

Well, in Fishao certain kinds of fish becomes active/inacite at certain times of the year. For example today I got contacted by a player who caught a Giant Snakehead in Aquayama, which I have never known about until this month. And yesterday when I was in Tombani I caught Freshwater Goby and Goldsilk Bream which I had not caught the previous month when I was there.

This is what the reserved column to the right in the tables are for in the Area Fishing Guide. So now I have started adding more detailed info there. For example for Pufferfish it now says "? -> Aug", which means it's active from an unknown time (?) of the year until August (Aug). And on Giant Snakehead it says "Sep -> ?" which means it's active from September until an unknown time of the year. These will eventually ofcourse get the questionmarks replaced by actual months, like "Feb -> Sep" and so on.

I think I have those times correct for now but I'm not 100% certain. You guys are welcome to contact me if you notice errors ofcourse. Remember that the notepad in your Fishdex is your best friend =)

Perhaps some cool (litteraly) 5-star fish will become active during the winter months?   ;-)

Help needed with Fishmarket trading prices

I have decided that I'm going to introduce a section on the blog where you can check the best known prices at the Fishmarket for your fish.

Would you like to help me out? I have put together a table with all the different fishes that I know of. Some are still unknown to me so they will be marked with a questionmark (?).

To avoid getting too many emails, I want you to be atleast level 20.

Every person who participates I will thank directly on this blog. For those who want to help, just make sure that you set your ingame language to english as the table is in english.

This is how you can help:

1, Download the fishmarket table HERE (just click "download now" after countdown finishes.) You need Wordpad or Word to open the table.

2, Fill in the form when you visit the Fishmarket. It's best if you keep the form for a while, maybe a week. If you have caught a fish that is not in the list, just change one of the empty posts marked with "?".

3, When you are ready to send me the table. Rename the file with your ingame name. Just add your name after "Fishmarket". So if your name is Salty you will rename the file to: Fishmarket Salty

The subject for the email should be: Fishmarket [your ingame name]

Tournament Fishing Guide completed!

Today I have finished the Tournament Fishing Guide!

Sharing a nice screenshot with you guys of the new WR for Common Octopus, 374 cm. Did you know that the Octopus is not a fish? It's classified as a invertibrate and is a type of Mollusc. Cool!

Some people are wondering if I'm going to introduce a section on the blog dedicated to the Fishmarket trading prices. I am considering it but it's not decided yet. If I'm going to do it I will probably make a form with all the known species for people to copy/download, fill it in and then send it back to me. That would probably be a good solution since it's a big job keeping track of the lowest and highest prices for 151 types of fish and one Invertibrate (or perhaps more?).

Biggest Fish ever caught, NEW WR!

On the 16:th of July I spoke to Mitch at Pinheira Beach. That was the first time I learnt about the existence of the Green Sawfish. That very day I tried to catch it and I DID get something huge to bite which looked like it could be a "five". But I immediately lost the fish since it was much too big for my rod back then.

So for two months now I have been trying to catch this fish. I knew that the player Weezle had caught several Green Sawfish and I understood that he must have some type of secret to catching it. Well, I don't want to reveal too much... fishermen have their secrets..  ;-) ... But I stumbled upon something and today, after two months of Fishing I finally caught the fish and it was an absolute MONSTER Green Sawfish.

I can hardly believe that I managed to pull it up since it was really really strong, and I was just a tiny hair from loosing it. But when I actually DID manage to pull it up my eyes popped out of their sockets, it was HUGE. I beat the World Record for Green Sawfish and at the same time also the WR for the biggest fish ever caught in Fishao with about ONE METER. It was 722 cm long!

So yeah, I guess you can imagine that I am more than satisfied right now! =)

Fish Market has opened!

Today the brand new Fish Market has opened up in Pinheira Beach!

Fish bucks! 

This is how it works:

All fish that you catch from now on will be put into your inventory. You can go to the Fish Market to sell your fish in return for the new ingame currency "Fish bucks". Right now you can use this currency to buy energy with, but you will be able to buy many different type of things with it in the future as Fishao gets updated.

John works at the Fish Market

There are two people working  at the Fishmarket, John and Rick. The amount of Fish bucks that you get for a certain type of fish will vary from day to day. John will give you individual prizes for each type of fish, and Rick will buy them all for the price he specifies. The more rare the fish is the more Fish bucks you get! You can also use your fish in trades with other players. So it's all about being as smart a businessman/woman that you can =)

Now open! Welcome in!

This new currency removes time spent waiting and greatly increases the time you spend on actively fishing, since the fish you catch can be sold for Fish bucks and the Fish bucks can be used to buy energy. It's a win-win situation =)

In my opinion it's a brilliant new feature for this game. It adds a new dimension, keeps the pace up in the game and gives players a new fun way to increase their energy, and also as stated earlier it will soon also give you lots of more things to spend your Fish bucks on! =)
